About Beauty Expert
For skincare fanatics, Beauty Expert is a literal dream come true. It’s an online platform of expertly-curated luxury products sourced from around the world. From Eve Lom, Jurlique to Elizabeth Arden and more, they have a huge variety of brands and products at great prices and free international shipping for most countries.
For those who feel overwhelmed with just too many options, you can check out their seasonal collections (eg. The Summer Edit right now) or collaborations, like the recent Hydration Edition – where you can find product recommendations and bundles at a steal. For this post, I’ll be sharing more about The Hydration Edition and my fave products, which you can buy individually on their site.
The Hydration Edition
This collaboration bundle was so immensely popular, it was completely sold out before its official launch. It featured 6 full-sized luxury items worth over USD $390, which were chosen for their naturally-derived ingredients and anti-pollution formulae, and was priced at only USD $130!
First impressions-wise, I was very impressed with how they came in a gorgeous bag and a thoughtful booklet to share more about the products and how to use them effectively.
Before sitting down to write this review, I’ve taken some time to try out all the products to share my honest opinion, so here goes!
#1. Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Hydrating Facial Mist
This is a definite winner for me, being such a lightweight but essential product. Although it looks like a tube of lotion, it’s actually a convenient mist to spritz on your face throughout the day, both on bare skin and on makeup.
This mist uses essential oils and natural anti-ageing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Velvet Flower, Wild Watermint and Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate your skin and protect it from environmental pollution. It’s easily one of my favourite items from this collection as it noticeably perks up my skin when I’m on the go, and helps me to keep it moisturized. Worth buying? Yes, for sure!
#2. Madara SOS Moisture + Radiance
This is another product I’m extremely excited about. I’ve briefly mentioned it in my previous Lookfantastic post about how awesome it is, so I was really happy to see it in this Beauty Expert collection!
This mask is great for dull complexion and dehydrated skin, and it reinforces the skin’s natural moisture over time. It also uses organic ingredients which are powerful but gentle on the skin.
I use this as an overnight mask whenever I’m having a bad skin day (you can use it regularly for 15-20 minutes sessions and remove after) and I do see visible results of clearer and brighter skin the next day.
#3. ARgENTUM La Potion Infinie Anti-Age Cream
This product is premium in many ways, from its ingredients to even the packaging, which is a bespoke jar and lid to protect the cream against damage by visible light. It’s definitely the fanciest of the bundle, and comes with a hefty price tag.
It uses a patented blend of key ingredients like Silver Hydrosol and DNA HP to promote cell regeneration and ultimate hydration. The brand is actually known for their ground-breaking skincare research and extravagant products like this Anti-Age Cream.
Although the cream feels thick, it absorbs very well, leaving the skin hydrated and moisturized. I can definitely see why it’s popular!
Also, I loved how their packaging is premium but quirky – they include 1 of 12 gorgeous archetype cards, which are “delivered by chance but always with love” – how cool is that?
#4. Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser
This cleanser uses a unique blend of ingredients like Clove, Chamomile and Eucalyptus to cleanse and hydrate the skin, and is said to be a “must-have” among beauty aficionados.
Regarding its scent, I think there’ll be two divided camps. I can totally see why some reviewers say that it smells like a luxury spa experience, but as I am more used to subtle scents on my cleansers, I find it a little hard to get used to it.
Although I can definitely feel my skin moisturized after the wash, my skin doesn’t feel the “squeaky clean” feeling that comes from foaming cleansers, which is perfectly normal but something I need more time getting used to. Personal preference!
#5. Pestle & Mortar Recover Eye Cream
The eye cream contains a blend of active ingredients like Coffee Bean extract, Passionfruit Seed Extract and Beta-Carotene to preserve and protect the eye area.
As someone who sleeps late often (trying to kick this bad habit, but I’m such a night owl) and spends a large amount of time on tech devices, this is quite an important step for me to prevent accelerated ageing in this delicate area.
I love how it’s scent-free, hydrating and soothing, and will definitely continue using this daily.
#6. Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm
The lip balm uses Shea Butter, Hyaluronic filling spheres and Omega-6 Ceramides to provide the ultimate long-lasting hydration to sooth and strengthen dry lips.
In addition to that, it also plumps the lips slightly (you’ll feel a subtle tingling upon application) – who needs lip plumping kits anymore?
It’s a great product to keep with you for your travels (especially to dry or cold countries), daily use, or even as an overnight plumping lip mask!
Conclusion
All in all, I must say that this collection is very impressive. All the products were EXTREMELY hydrating and very well chosen. Although my pocket will not appreciate me getting hooked on these products, my skin will!
I hope this post has inspired some of you to try these out – you will definitely not regret it.
